Friday I got a call from a local who needed some help with his radiator on a TO-35. No problem, I told him, I think I have a spare. He shows up with his radiator we line his up his with mine only to find his is taller. He didn't mention that his tractor had the Perkins 3 cylinder engine. The 35 with a gas engine's radiator is shorter than that of the rad for a Perkins Diesel.
He had bought a new radiator from a local dealer but it wouldn't fit, dealer said the rad for his tractor was no longer available. As it turns out lucky for him I had what he needed kicking around. He left off his radiator that leaks so that I can fix it for him so he has a spare.
A lot of you have more knowledge than I ever will have. Any idea why the tractor with the perkins has a bigger radiator than the same tractor with a gas engine?
