Ok Massey guys, I need some help. I'm an IH guy from way back and can fix them with my eyes closed but the recently acquired Massey 55 gas is got me baffled. The front seal is out of the tranny just behind the roller chain. Is there a trick to getting the sprockets off or will I have to pull the engine? Also wher can I get that seal and manifold gaskets plus other things for a 55? I've searched all over the Internet but not many partsnAvailable for a 55. Parts seem to stop with the 44. Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks in advance. Jerry

Hi Jerry
I believe I have the seal you are looking for. Can you get me the part number? Gaskets will be very hard to find.
Can you give me a list of other parts you are looking for...I have a few new parts for the 55 ETC. E-mail is open, bottom right.

I think you will have to slide the engine ahead--not a big job, but make sure the dowel pins that locate the rear of the engine are not tight to the block or you may break off the tabs.

Ok. Ordered a new manifold and was sent the wrong one! I ordered a 761614m1 for a 55 and got one for I think a 44. The 44 number is 761615m1. I'm going to try and send it back but if they won't take it, I will have it for sale at half price. Heck of a deal for somebody's screw up.

Next question is where can I get a good used one? Surely someone has a good one in their spare parts stash! I have looked all over the Internet and no one even lists one. Somebody please help me out!!!!

Thanks. Jerry
