hi guys I am new to this forum as I just picked up a 1968 MF20. I am looking to restore it to usable condition. as I was cleaning the years of sludge off it I found something on the right side of the trany below seat next to dip stick. it is a slide type thing that goes in an arc moves very easily top to bottom. any one have an idea of what this does or how it was meant to be used, I will post pictures latter today when I get a chance.
thanks
Joe

Hi,
It sounds like you are referring to the RESPONSE control lever. It should have a sheet
metal cover over it with the words 'Response' and high and low. It is used to vary the
speed of response in the Draft Control circuit when used in conjunction with the DRAFT
quadrant lever when using a soil engaging implement such as a plough. You can also vary the
speed at which an implement on the 3-point linkage drops to the ground when the quadrant
POSITION control lever is lowered. It has no effect on the speed that the 3-point rises.
