Is the FE35 and Massie Ferguson 35 same ?

I was looking at parts and i seen that there is parts for a ferguson fe35 and also a massie furguson 35 is these two the same thing ?

I own a MASSEY FERGUSON FE 35 x made in ENGLAND,3 cylinder Perkins engine. My neighbour owns a FERGUSON 35. They look identical BUT.....the neighbours 35 has a FOUR CYLINDER ENGINE. I have purchased parts off a FRGUSON 35 and installed on my FE 35 X..specificaly the entire steering Colum, housing and dash.

Im not close by my tractor right now. But i think mine said massie ferguson fe35 and it has the continental gas motor on it

The fe35 has the English hood and the gas model comes with the Standard Motors Petrol engine, don't believe any fe's came with the continental.Someone just slapped an english hood on a to35 or a MF.

In the UK the tractor started out as a grey and gold FE35 usually fitted with a Standard 23c 4 cylinder diesel engine. Towards the end of 1957 it began to be marketed as the MF35 and got a red/grey colour scheme but still with the 4 cylinder engine. In 1959 MF bought Perkins engines and then it got the 3 cylinder 3.152 engine fitted. Later it got a power upgrade to 45hp (I think that is called the AD3.152 engine) and also diff lock and became the MF35X. In 1965? or thereabouts it got new timwork and became the MF 135. and eventually the MF550, TAFE, IMT etc.

So the answer to your question is that an FE 35 and MF 35 are different models but might be mechanically the same tractor but only if they both have the 4 cylinder engine. FE35 should be grey and gold. Some dealers resprayed and rebadged the FE35 to red/grey to try and unload the old model and so there can be fake MF35s out there too.

A 3 cylinder MF35 is not the same as the FE35 but a lot of the non-engine parts would interchange.

Massey Ferguson continued to refer to the MF35 as the FE35 for years afterwards in its instruction books and promotional leaflets . Look at the tractor meter of early MF35 Grey and red deluxe tractors , it will state clearly FE35 .
The original 1956/57 Grey and Gold FE35 came with the option of two engines , the Standard 23C diesel and the Standard 87mm petrol , both four cylinder units . In Australia the diesel version is far less common than the petrol .
