44 carb help

Rebuilt the carb on my 44 and still having problems with it. Would like to take it to a pull on Saturday so no time to order a service manual. Can anyone help me out with float and needle sEttinger? I did a quick Google search but my needle adjustments need to be way out compared to what I found to get mine to run and I'm still dripping gas from bottom of carb. Assuming float level issues or maybe my float has a small crack or hole in it I didn't see?

very easy to check the float for heavieness, just give it a little shake and you will tell if it has gas in it..or just by the feel of it. to set the float without a setting just hold the top of carb upside down and let it rest on the seat and "eye" it up. set it level. that is your float level adjustment. the packing may be leaking on the main load adjustment needle, as that could be your gas leak.
