Finely got Dads little tractor running. Im really not up to speed on these tractors. Its low on hydraulic fluid. What type of fluid does it use..Also a steel power steering line is leaking..Much chance of getting this at a salvage yard?

Suggest you get the proper year model owners manual.

There are a number of oils out there, marked for hydraulic differential use.

But your tractor uses the same oil in the hydraulic, gearbox, differential system.

Oil must be compatible to all systems or you could damage your machine.

When was the oil changed, if you do not know, then it probably needs to be changed, your tractor may or may not have a filter depending on model year?

Good luck with the tractor,

Thanks Maxwell, Think I will just change it..I know its an early model, its has a 3and 2 trans. Will also check for filter. One site says it holds 8 gallon. This sound about right? Thanks again and have a great day

My tractor is a bit older, TO35, it uses GL-1 mineral oil 90 weight.

Yes I always buy 8 gals, if you can buy 5 gal containers might get it cheaper per gal.

I normally buy one 5 gal and three 1 gal containers, if your oil is available in those sizes.

But first, be sure you determine and purchase the proper oil for your tractor!!!!!!!!!!

MF changed their oil requirements over the years.

8 gallons of specification M1129A oil if it a 135. Filter screen accessible through PTO lever cover on left side. Two drain plugs to completely drain. Drain first. Filter top secured with safety wire. Be sure to replace. Do not tip filter assembly when removing or you will dump dirt back in. There should be an o-ring under filter assembly. Rinse filter screen with solvent and reassemble. Replace if screen is deteriorated. You could fill sump with diesel to loosen accumulated dirt and drain.
