MF35 Radiator and fan replacement: How difficult?

A fan blade broke while I was mowing and put a sizable a gash in the radiator, so it looks like I need to replace both.

Is this something that's reasonably easy to do?

Thanks for the help.

Very easy job. Remove bolt on each side of hood (or bonnet in UK/Aust terminology). Lift off hood. Undo top and bottom radiator hoses. Two nuts at
bottom of radiator hold it on. Remove them and lift off radiator. That allows access to fan. Unbolt it.

Not hard at all. Remove hood then radiator and the fan has 4 small bolts. Remove hoses, top brace on radiator, then loosen 2 bolts on bottom of radiator and it will slide off frame. Bolts has carriage heads.

My 35 did that and I put on a used fan and repaired the radiator but then the new fan broke a blade within a few hours. I was advised at the time that the water pump might not be
turning as freely as it should and that could be causing the fan blades to fatigue so I got a new fan and radiator and water pump and the 35 has been much happier since then.

you will have to have the fan cone pressed onto the water pump shaft. be sure to measure old fan cone distance from water pump and have new cone pressed on at same distance otherwise the fan belt could have a slight angle around the pulley's.

The fan blade is bolted to cone housing and all you have to do is bolt new fan on. You don't have to press cone off unless your buying a new pump.

when ordering a new radiator be sure to check where the bracket is for the rod that goes from rad. to thermostat housing. some are high and some are low. you want a low one.
