Massey Ferguson 35 gas

Just bought a Massey Ferguson 35 gas today and it runs pretty good except for pulling a hill. It seems to lug it down and it also sputters at idle when warm. You think its a carb issue. Tractor starts great and everything works but it seems to have a slight fuel related issue. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Try adjusting the main jet first. Lower screw on the carb. Open it up a little at a time till you have it running like it should. You should be able to open it up to the point you get black smoke then turn it back in till the smoke stops and it should be about right then.

The idling air adjustment is about 1 turn out from the closed position. The idling speed adjustment should be adjusted to 450 RPM. The main jet adjustment is between 1 and 1 1/4 turns from the closed position.
