Hi, i am after some advice as to what could be up with my 135. The engine starts with no problem, has plenty of power. When going from low revs to high revs there is alot of black smoke (even when just on the road with no real load). At high revs the engine misfires every now and again. At a steady RPM it doesnt smoke. It just doesnt sound like a 135 should do if anyone knows what i mean? I have had injectors overhauled and air and fuel filters and clean. What should be my next move?

I have already posted this on the general board but someone suggested posting here as this is where the MF experts are?

I think it's the injectors. what work occurred during the "overhauled" of the injectors? did they replace nozzles?
could be worn nozzles and or bad fuel.

I agree with Great Oak. many years ago we worked on a TE20 that had been fitted with a Perkins P3, that engine was doing precisely the same thing as yours. We had the pump and injectors overhauled ( Believe me those injectors were shot, when the guy tested them they did not spray, they dribbled! They definitely needed new nozzles ) and the
difference it made was incredible.
