35 X Exhaust manifold

I'm about to replace the exhaust manifold (broken and not repairable)on my parents Massey Ferguson 35 X... 3 cylinder Perkins "A3.152". I have been told (third handed) the Ford DEXTRA 3000 utilized a 3 cylinder Perkins. I'm wondering if the Exhaust manifold would work well on the Massey 35 x? The reason is I've been asked to Install a vertical exhaust on their 35 x. I have located an after market exhaust manifold for a 35 X. Then I'll have to install a 180 deg which will add weight to the manifold mounting studs.
Thank you
Bob...

I moved the exhaust pipe back under the tractor after the second or third tree limb broke the manifold.

I like to rotary cut under and around trees, also got tired of breathing exhaust fumes and the extra noise.

So far much happier, but in hay fields or corn fields the under belly exhaust can be a issue.

Unless you take the diesel tank off the Dexta exhaust will not work! The dexta upright exhaust goes up through the hood, the 35x tank is in the way!.....99.5 % of our 35s over in the UK use the upright exhaust with no ill effects on the manifold studs.

The 35X exhaust manifold (part # 37761251), and elbow (part # 898011M1). It seems like you maybe be able to use the 135 exhaust manifold (part # 734921M1), and the elbow (part # 507912M1). My brother has hit a few branches with 135 using the 734921M1 manifold, and the 507912M1 elbow, and we haven't broke it off yet. It looks like the 35X uses a 2 bolt flange for the elbow while the 135 uses a 3 bolt flange.

The vertical exhaust on the 150 row crop is the original 1965 manifold, and elbow, we've been driving it under trees all these years, and haven't broken it either.

just a suggestion:

when you install that upright muffler, I would also make them a short stubby turn down pipe.

so when needed, they could take the upright muffler off, slip on the temporary use, short turn down pipe, if they ever have to work under trees.

yesterday I was cutting under my fruit trees, limbs hitting me in the face, one caught my old cap knocked it off, cutter sucked it under before I could get stopped.

we used to have to pull the uprights off all the tractors as we worked in the old tobacco barns. but, those days are mostly over with.

good looking tractors,
