MF 220 overheating

My MF 220 has been overheating this summer. It has been in the mountains and mid 80's but after a half hour or so of bush hogging the temperature goes to overload. I ordered a new thermostat but was wondering about the gasket attached to the bottom of the hood which seals off the radiator from the engine. Could the worn out gasket be the culprit to overheating?

(quoted from post at 14:40:48 08/03/15) It could if its allowing clippings, and what not from bush hogging to be sucked up clogging the radiator reducing air flow through it.

Its kind of funny. Mice really like making nests in front of the radiator so we put some window screen and 1/4" hardware cloth in front of the radiator and blow out the nest debris before operating. Not much debris gets in this area while mowing.I am glad that the mice run all the way back on the transmission rather than up my pants leg when starting the tractor.

It could also be that the radiator is getting clogged on the inside. Maybe look into the radiator, flush it out, or have a radiator shop check it out.
