TO30 Hydraulic Pump Rebuild

This question may have been asked and answered already but I could not find it.

I have a 1953 TO30 Massey Ferguson tractor. I am rebuilding the hydraulic pump. I purchased the Comprehensive Hydraulic Pump Rebuild Kit Part Number S.61725 from Yesterday's Tractor Co.

All went together well except when I tried to to place the pump unit back into the tractor. The pump will not fit, it seems to be a bit to wide for the opening now.

Has anyone experienced this problem or have a suggestion on how to fix it. I am going to call the company to inquire as well.

Thanks in advance.

First off, post this question in the 'Harry Ferguson' forum, that is who made your tractor. Are one of the 2 screws back too far in? keeping the pump from going down any farther? Is there something that fell in there under it? Anything stick out past the machined surfaces? Sometimes it ain't much more than more wigglin

Thanks for the suggestion too move the
thread.

The pump is out and I am trying to
reinsert it in. The new side plates
are a slightly different design but
close to the same thickness. These are
the universal design and may
bebcausing the issue.

I need maybe 1/16" to get the pump
unit in. I have tried wiggling tilting
and even tried inserting in 90° and
rotating with no luck.

I have toyed with filling the four
bolt lugs on the the tractor. But I
don't want to go that route just yet.

After calling the company and finding out that this is a known issue I did file the lug bolts on the side of the tractor just a little and got the pump in just fine.
