Massey Ferguson 35 deluxe

I have to put a clutch in a 35 deluxe, it appears to have a 2 stage clutch, any thought? it also has week power steering. I am
doing this for a neighbor and it's not my tractor so i am not familer with it's operation. Thanks in advance

A power steering model deserves a top notch overhaul. Not to mention it comes with the 2stage which puts it in the collector category. It's a diamond in the rough.

Not entirely sure what you're asking. I removed the clutch from my 35 (2 stage) a couple years ago and sent it to a clutch shop to be rebuilt. The tractor needs to be split and while you're in there it is worthwhile to replace the transmission input seals. On mine the seals leaked so bad that it soaked the clutch and the starter. Not sure how, that's how it was when I got it. I do have some pictures somewhere of some of the process.

Don't be intimidated by the 2 stage clutch. They aren't that complicated as long as you have a repair manual and the proper tools, which you can make. A friend made the pilot tool from a piece of hardwood. I did both of mine 15 years ago and just recently adjusted them.

It is a fairly straightforward job. Check in the Articles section of Research and Info on the left of this page and look for MF 35 (and up) Tractor Assembly Notes by Jack from NB
