Where does this wire connect to?

I bought this tractor a couple weeks ago- MF 360 Perkins. Runs great but my dash lights do not work. I have cleaned all the contact/connections at or near dash panel and I am thinking it might be due to this homeless wire. See picture . This wire is from the dash and runs with the other wire that goes to the starter.
I don't see any hookup/connection of any sort in this area where this wire should attach.

There does seem like it might have been connected to the starter and maybe a connecting tab has broken.

Any help is appreciated on where this wire's home might be.

Two thoughts. First, you might connect 12 volts to that wire, see if the dash lights start to work. CONVERSELY, see if you are getting 12 volts out of it.
My other thought, on my MF-240 I discovered under-the-dash extra fuses and extra wires that are not shown on the wiring diagrams, or in the owners manual, or in the I&T manual. Turned out they were for the horn, and for the flasher, if I remember. It all works. But anyway, I now suspicion that guys at the MF factory just added fuses and wires as they saw fit.

Could be like me, rewired my 150 to suit myself. First, if you don't have a muti-meter, get one!

Check the wire in question for voltage, key on/off. Lights are pretty simple and voltage is usually taken either from the battery terminal on the starter, or the battery post on the voltage regulator. Then thru a fuse and onto the light switch/switches.

Thanks for the info gentlemen.
I will check it with a 12v tester. Seems odd for such a thick guage wire to not have an obvious connection somewhere.

Could it be that the wire might attach to the voltage regulator above the starter? Would dash lights and other electric switches be powered from that wire?

I know almost nothing about electrical, to be honest, except I'd be vey cautious connecting anything to various plugs-ins on a voltage regulator. I'd think there's only one correct place for that wire, but many ways to s##ew it up and smoke something on a voltqge regulator. Just my opinion.
