I changed fuel filters on my 180 then cut hay for about a half hour and tractor shut down. I have fuel at the lower vent on injector pump but not at the top vent. the Massey parts book shows a small filter on the rear of the pump would this cause the problem? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, doorman.

The top vent can be bled later, the lower one is the important one. It must have no air at all, then take loose the injector line nuts 1/2 turn and crank engine to get fuel to the injectors. If you never get fuel to the injectors then the pump has problems. The pump inlet has a safety screen, I doubt it's your trouble unless the final filter was not sealed correctly in the past. What brand filters did you use?

I used Baldwin Could it have sucked air? Do these ever vapor lock? The old filters looked pretty bad.

I'm not sure what the top of Baldwin filter looks like as to fuel flow through the filter. Reason I asked is NAPA/WIX has the fuel inlet groove at the top outer sealing bead, just inside, and have seen several times the groove has one of the O rings in it by mistake. There's one more thing to check, on top of a filter base there's a constant bleed fitting, may be a straight fitting or banjo bolt that goes back to tank, usually with the injector return. Make sure it's open, not plugged. It's there to get air out of the filter base before it can get to the injection pump, causing shut down.
