1948 TEA 20

Hi everyone,
Posting this message again in the hope that someone can help.
Seeking the whereabouts of a 1948 TEA 20 with full lighting set. The tractor was sold in a farm sale in Carmarthenshire West Wales in 1972. The tractor is a little unusual in that when it left me it had a foot throttle, telescopic stabilizers and a Nuffield seat pan that had been converted into a suspension seat.
I would very much like to know if it is still 'alive'. The registration number is HTG 204.

Thanks.

I don't know about your train of thought David... but I no longer admit to begin around yet in 1972....
your tractor might be one of the hundreds those hoarders have under dozens of tin sheds over there...
I bet none of them keep an inventory or roster of serial numbers on paper... I hope you find your ol pal!!!

Hi Tony, thanks for your reply. Yes indeed it might still be stored out in the Big Blue Shed or blocking a hole in a hedge somewhere or even recycled into cola tins!!!! It was sold in 1972 when we upgraded!!! to a 3-cylinder MF 35. It was in immaculate condition and was sold in this Carmarthenshire farm sale for £80 which I guess would be about $130-150 today.
The photo is of me when I reckon I was about 3 or 4 years old which would have been taken around 1958-59. It won't take too much to work out that I have a 60th birthday coming up, next Friday as it happens, WHICH also happens to be the day that Babs and I are getting married on our second trip on life's roundabout.

Cheers

Well don't you look at home on there! Just tie some wooden blocks on the pedals and Bob's yer uncle!!!

I'm glad to see that we didn't lose you to the dark world of David Browns or Nuffields... where there's fergies... there's hope...

With inflation of 40 odd years?? I bet it would be like your dad selling it for what 1200 quid or more could buy nowdays... on my first trip to the UK in the mid 80's, blimey... most everything was paid for in coins... big coins, but not much needed paying for in paper...

Those lights do make it look different - that will make it easier to find in the vast sheds full of identical fergies. Remember to bring a spotlamp and binoculars...

Well congratulations on your turning 'middle age' and your.... 'new roundabout in life' .... :)

Fortunately it had footplates that I could just stand on and reach the pedals! Without them I would be on the floor! The lighting set is the original Ferguson one for the UK. The one headlamp is now referred to as the 'cyclops' type. It had a similar lamp on the rear which was fixed and operated by a large switch very similar to the floor mounted switch used to switch from main beam to dip on 50s and 60s cars.

Thanks for your good wishes.
