I'm looking for someone that's extremely
knowledgeable on open center hydraulic systems
on tractors and combines of all colors.
Here's my story.......I have a Massey 5200
articulated 4wd which is same as an old 4000 series
Massey 4wd hydraulic system wise from what I've
gathered so far!? Both series use an open center
pressure compensated system.
Okay, here's where it's gonna get interesting!!!......I
want to install a hydraulic auto steering system on
this tractor......we run all john deere auto steering
systems cause our mainly used tractors are green.
All John Deere 4wd tractors are closed center
systems so that rules using a auto steer setup off a
deere 4wd. However deere combines are open
center load sensing systems. My plans are to take
everything off a deere combine(steering orbital
motor w auto steering electrical valve, flow meter
valve, harness, steering shaft, wheel angle sensor)
and install on my Massey tractor so it's more
precise than my ATU steering setup I'm now using.
So here's the question: What is the difference
between pressure compensated and load sensing
systems? Can I use load sensing components on a
pressure compensated system and expect things to
work perfect?
I'm not very knowledgeable on hydraulics so I could
use some help here!!!! Thank you!
