MF150 runs rough when warm

I have had a problem with my MF150 running rough after about 30-45 minutes of use. Last night, I changed the coil, points, condenser, plugs, and plug wires. After that, it ran better than it ever has since I bought it. I mowed for 45 minutes. I hit a thick patch and bogged the motor down. After that, it ran rough the rest of the night. It barely made it back to the barn. After I shut it off, it wouldn't start again until it cooled off. I know these sound like classic coil symptoms, but the coil is brand new. Any thoughts?

Sounds like you covered the problem areas. I have a old 48 Pontiac that had the same symptoms. It would run fine on start up and then after driving 20-30 miles it would start cutting out and then die on the side of the road. Let it sit for a while and it would restart and run for another cycle. Got it home and did the same exchange as you did. Didn't solve the problem. I changed the wire from the coil to the distributor and problem solved. The wire must have been breaking down under increasing heat. Sorta like me, breaking down with age.

Just a thought. Nothing to lose, but a short piece of wire :)

What kind of shape is the engine in, does it burn oil ? Is the carburetor set too rich ? Are you fowling spark plugs ? Could there be a piece of crud moving around in the carburetor causing intermittent issues ?

Out in left field here, but you have tried most of my quick fixes

What plugs are you running?

Are you using ethanol fuel?

Could your fuel tank cap vent be stopped up, this will create vacuum inside the tank after about 30-40 mins of run time, causing fuel to stop flowing to the carb, or a very poor flow of fuel.
Stop tractor motor, slowly open tank cap, listen carefully for a rush of air into tank.
If this is your problem, after tractor sets for a while air bleeds back into tank, tractor will run again and you will have no idea what's wrong.

Maybe this new coil is bad

As the man said you still have a problem, it's lack of fuel, fire or compression.
