I have 124 twine baler, I am have a issues with the knotters. I am getting a big birds nest of twine, it appears the knot is not coming off the knotter. I have checked the knives and the knotters and they seem to be in spec. Any Suggestions. I am using poly twine and don't seem to be getting a nice clean cut.

The billhook is internally spring loaded, sometimes they need to come apart and cleaned of dirt and dust. The knot is pulled off the billhook as the bale moves down the chamber, no wiper arm on the knotter like the early balers used.

Hi,
Odd as it might sound the majority of knotting problems are not caused by the knotters. I would suggest that you check and if necessary clean the twine tensioner plates on the side of the cord box. You may well find that there is a build-up of debris which is reducing the tension and letting the cord run through too easily. This can happen particularly with poly cord.

thank you fro the tips I have gotten some of the problems fixed. I am having a lot of trouble locating parts, does anyone have information where to find parts, new or used?

Freeport Farm Center in Freeport, MN and Howard's in Mt Hope, KS. I live in Oregon and buy my Massey parts (lots of 124 parts) from them because they know the product and get it to me faster than my dealer that is 30 miles away.
