MF 50 Clutch center

I removed the transmission cover to check transmission. Everything is as it should be and shifts hi lo and 1-3 and reverse. Can put it in gear and release clutch pedal and nothing. Was told it sounds like the center of trans clutch has come apart. Anyone ever hear of one doing this?

I changed a clutch on a Ford 1720 once that the lining was totally gone off the disc and shredded up in the bottom of the bellhousing...

well at first thought something was wrong in tranny, removed cover plate and everything is as it should be. Is odd have never had one do what this one does. It acts like clutch is engaged all the time instead of like a "bad" clutch where it stays disengaged. The secondary clutch works fine for the pto. Have never dealt with anything like this, so tomorrow am pulling it apart and am hoping for sure it is the clutch, shew never thought I would say that.
