MF 245 Implements hitting rear tires

I hope some of you guys can help me figure out why my King Kutter brand 6 ft. "bush hog" hits my rear tires when I raise the lift. I'm also having the same issue with my 6 ft box blade and 6 ft disc. The tractor is a 1977 model Massey Ferguson 245. The rear tires are 13.6 X 28. I've been told that this is the correct size tires for this tractor. The lift arms are the correct length, 33 1/2 inches center to center and approx. 35 inches overall length.
I've tried adjusting the top link, with little success. I can't gain enough clearance to raise the lift, much over half way, without hitting the rear tires.
And yes, I have tried using stabilizer bars. That doesn't help either.
I'm at my wits end here guys. I could lengthen the lift arms, but I'd rather not. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks !!!

I would go to a neighbor, if he has a different brand cutter or box blade, ask if you
can mount the implements on your tractor.

If they fit and work properly then the problem is the position of the lower lift pins on
your aftermarket implements.

If other brand implements do not work, I would try to find another 245 and check the
length of the lower lift arms on that tractor.

It's possible someone has installed the wrong length lift arms on your tractor.
You did say you have the standard size tires on your tractor.

My neighbor has a 245 never heard him say anything about implements not fitting his
tractor.

Let us know what you find wrong.

My 240-S is similar, things are real close, but so far nothing actually hits. The lower lift arms clear the tires by 1/4" somethimes. Not sure I like it, but .....

My 245 has same problem my work around is to shorten upper link and not lift to
high.My other Massey don't have any problem hitting tires 3 165's and 1 175. I need to
measure lower links on a parts 165 but it has 16.9 *28 maybe to long

I've had that issue twice, once with a six foot Bush Hog and the other with a six foot tiller. I used two stabilizer bars on both and the problem went away. You may want to re-examine your stabilizer bar setup.

Maxwell, your comment about lift pin location, jogged my memory about a similar problem I had 30 yrs ago with a MF150. So I decided to rotate the lower lift pins on my cutter 180 degrees to the inside of the support brace, instead of the outside.
Well guess what? It worked. By moving the pins to the inside, the lift arms now closer together and straighter, when hooked to my cutter. It gives me just enough clearance to raise the lift without the cutter getting into the rear tires. All I need to do now is install another pin to hook my stabilizer to.
Thanks !!!

I just saw this and did the same thing. My 6ft Rhino has the reversible Cat 1 or 2 pins and I flipped them to put the arms to the inside also. I never checked to see how they operated on the outside, it just didn't look right. I have the a stabilizer arms and they fit in the same spot as the lift arms.

I have a Woods 84" shredder behind my MF 2135 industrial, had to move the pins to the inside on the shredder so I could hook on to the tractor.
