I have a MH33 with a bad engine. I have a chance to buy a MH44 with a bad transmission. Will the whole rear end and tranny just swap without any problems? Or would it better just to swap engines?

Easier to swap engines. You will need to swap hoods as well since the holes a spaced diferently; possibly the rad if the 44 rad is bigger; make sure the coupling behind the clutch housing is the same design.Different years used different throttle designs as well.
