Mf 50 with multipower transmission leak

Ok I have acquired a mf 50 with 4200 hours on it.......has the 3 cylinder perkins in it......straight little tractor.


someone let the weep hole for the clutch area stop up, drained about a quart of oil out of it when I took off inspection plate and then cleaned the cotter key hole out.


it doesn't leak much on the low side of multipower but does leak more on the high side..will that be the sealing rings on the output shaft or is it simple like just one seal that you can get to without taking transmission apart.......I know I have to redo clutch since it is oil soaked.......

I could just be the input seal. There is also the MP valve in there and hydraulic line. Its hard to say until you get her split.
 
well I am hoping it is just the input seal......is there much you have to do if you cannot get it from splitting it half.....been too long don't remember
 
It probably is the sealing rings and they have likely worn groves inside the input shaft retainer. That job can be done from inside the bell housing.
 
I had to get into mine to do the clutch pack in the MP. I think parts were around 300 with discs, sealing rings, input shaft bearing, pressure hose on the MP, and new bushings for the clutch and brake shafts. Everything came from a little Massey dealer here in NNY except the hose. I had one of those made up locally because Massey wanted big bucks. The clutch kit I got from this site.
 
I can not answer your concerns however, I do have the original MF MANUAL 1448 811 M1 with SECTION 7. Section 7 has many pictures on the topic you are concerned with. If you require theses pictures I shall post them for you on YT. Section 7 is MULTI-POWER TRANSMISSION MF 35-50-65. GROUP II-SECTION B-PART 3

front main seal is leaking too.........darn.
