mf 65 trani swap

Was wondering if anyone has tried to put mf 65 trani into a mf 50,mf 35 or f40. I was going to use a hi 65 trani on to a hi 50. They look like same length and obviously different gearing. It seems like they would mate properly but wondering of some other possible issues.
Thanks

There must be a difference in gearing since the 65 has final drives and the 35/40/50 don't. You would probably end up with a very fast tractor.

I have an MH50 where the opposite was done..It has a 65 rear end but the original MH50 engine and transmission. It is very slow!

Dan, Does the mh 50 have enough power to run the 65 rear end? I was just looking to make a different puller and I do have access to a 65 rear end. T hanks for your input.

I haven't really used it to do any work since I got it because it needs a few things done to it first but it drives around fine, just slow. The previous owner used it to pull a hay rake and only sold it because he couldn't get the speed out of it he wanted. He didn't mention any issues with power. The hydraulics are the same between a 50 and a 65 so the only difference would be how much power the planetary gears use up in the final drives, but I can't imagine its a lot.

I have looked at this as well and it appears the transmissions are similar. The 50 uses a higher ratio ringgear and pinion to achieve final speed. The 65 has a lower ratio ringgear and pinion with final reduction at the planetary. By doing this the torque is greater in the planetary thus relieving premature wear of the differential at higher horsepower's. These tractors do not have bull gears for final reduction. The transmission gearing is different between row crop and standard models. The row crops are geared lower to allow for the tall 38" wheels. If you were to mate a rowcrop transmission with short standard wheels the tractor would be much slower than normal. If you go the other way (standard transmission to rowcrop 38" wheels the tractor would be very fast. Multipower also complicates the situation as it is basically a speed up in each gear. A multipower tractor will have a much higher road speed.
