Massey 275 radiator overflowing

Five minutes after I start my Massey 275, the radiator coolant comes gushing, and I mean gushing, out of the overflow tube. Shut the tractor down. I waited a day and refilled it to proper level. Thought maybe it has a blown head gasket? Started a cold engine and looked down the radiator top fill for bubbles or any activity. After 30 seconds all was quiet. Put a new radiator cap on. My old one is rated for 6 lbs pressure. This new one is rated for 16 lbs. Tractor ran for 10 minutes and same ol problem when engine got hot---fluid started to gush out of the overflow again. I'm nervous that I may have a serious problem. I planned on making this my main haying tractor. Any suggestions would be appreciated and thankfully accepted!

Maybe thermostat is sticking!!?? Have you tried a new one yet?
Do a compression gas test to see if your head gasket maybe bad!!??

Can you see any flow or movement in the coolant when it warms up with the cap off? If its gushing out, I'm gonna throw the thought of head gasket on the table. Stuck thermostat will not build that much pressure all at once. It will start as a steady stream then a boil over. A pressure test of the cooling system may be in order.

I'd throw a thermostat in it before tearing down to replace head gasket! Whole lot easier to replace, not that expensive and one less thing to rule out! Ya never know!!!!

Run it for more than 30 seconds with the cap off, let it get to operating temp with the cap off. The engine nay need to get warmed up some before you start seeing any bubbling.

Hi
Is this a new to you tractor or one you have owned a long while?, If it's new to you, There may be nothing wrong with it only you filling the rad right to the top, then when it warms up the water expands and it has to go someplace. Like out the overflow. There are lots of tractors out there that run the water an inch or more below the fill neck top or down in the header tank. They kinda find there own level and it don't matter how much it's topped up it will push that amount out.
If not that then start doing simple checks like is the rad plugged with dirt and things like that, My Valtras bad for plugging and blowing water out. Then do Diagnostic tests after the simple things.
There are way to many machines out there that get parts thrown at them when not needed, It doesn't fix the problem. It just waists money and time. From some of the stuff I get to see here in my shop and out on farms. it was maybe just something very simple a guy tried fixing it himself and bought stuff he never needed just guessing at a problem.
Regards Robert
