tapping into transmission for pto pump

I am going to use a pto pump for the loader and a backhoe. I didn't want to hang a tank on the tractor so I was thinking of tapping into the transmission case to use the tractors hydraulic fluid for the other implements as well. I have a 1964 MF35, what do you think?

I did it on a 205. The right side just ahead of the oil check stick. You will want to take the top cover off so you can see where you are drilling and tapping. I used 1" pipe thread for suction and 3/4" for return. The case is 3/8 to 1/2 thick as I remember. Be sure you get low enough for suction.

I think that is a bad idea. The transmission and inboard hydraulics are better off not picking up extra heat and crap that a loader and hoe generate. A Ferguson/MF arsend wasn't designed to do that sort of hydraulic work.
A separate pump and reservoir on the loader frame or grill guard stays cooler, easier to maintain, designed to be abused? and has no connection to the tractor's fluids... therefor no 'hydraulic VD'....

I would put the biggest oil cooler that can fit up front on the return side along with a big spin on filter. The extra volume of the cooler, filter, and extra line for the return will help.

I did it all through the pto plate on our 165. Probably would've worked better to tap into the cast housing but it's been working good for quite a while now. No issues with heat that I've ever noticed. Put a filter inv the return and now the oil actually gets filtered, instead of just run through the screen in the transmission.
