MF 65 leaking diesel injectors

Can anyone tell me if fuel is suppose to come out the top of a diesel injector with the top cap off. The reason I asked. I am restoring my MF 65.
I started it for the first time yesterday. It started ok with a little started fluid. It ran nice but smoked a lot. I know it was going to smoke just for
being started for the first time.
But after about 7 or 8 min of running the smoke cleared up. Start to see leaks here and there. But I notice that
the injector was leaking. So I remove the top cap of the injector and fuel was coming out the top of the adjusting screw. I did not know if that is
suppose to be that way or not. The tractor was still running fine. I did not hear any skips or ruff running of the tractor. It responded to up down
throttle nice and quickly. So I just tighten the top cap of the injector. But all the injectors were doing this. So is the ok or I have a problem.

Are they leaking from the line or the injector themselves? The line has copper thrust washers at each injector and they can be leaky. Its pretty easy to fix that. As far as below that on the injectors themselves I haven't had to mess with any of mine.

Yes, there is a very small amount of fuel that leaks past the needle valve that goes out the top of the injector when running. If the spring screw has been turned opening pressure will need to be reset, cap is what holds it in place after setting on the poptester..
