Can anyone help identify this gearbox and part please

Hi all,

I'm new here and cannot think of any other place to possibly find information about an old tractor that we have that we are trying to repair.

The trouble comes from a tiny little part in the gearbox that we cannot find or in fact identify which gearbox it actually is.

Now, first things first. The tractor is a Massey Ferguson 135 Narrow. On the data plate stands :

Model no. 135 8V
Serial : 661022
Engine : FA47071

From what I have been told by one mechanic, this tractor is a french built Massey, although I am having very little luck finding any information on it.

Now for the problem.

Now in the last image is the tiny location plate that is broken.

I can manufacture a new one but have no idea what the full plate is supposed to look like.

Please, can anyone help ?>

Ben

It is indeed a french built yinyard tractor....I will see what I can find out for you!.....Sam

It looks like a locking tab for a bolt (something like this).

Hi Guys,

Thanks for replying.

My biggest problem is that I know what the plate does and how it should locate etc. but it is trying to get find out which way the plate bends at the selector side of the plate, where the plate locates against the selector rail that is causing the issues. This particular tractor has been standing now for over a year because we cannot figure out how/what this little plate looks like. Well, it had to have gears rebuilt as well but the final piece is this little plate.

Any help will be greatly appreciated since this is still a working tractor and it is starting become a scrapyard antique.

It looks like it should go here.

The plate you have probably fits a US, or UK 135 (I can't find any info a French built 135). Hopefully someone can solve the mystery.

To see an exploded view of it go to the Agco Parts online web site, sign in as a guest. Then search for 135, Massey Ferguson. Pick the 135 tractor Book 651199. When it opens up on the rt side should be a list of pages, you want pg. 254. Gear Shift (8 speed) , your plate if I am correct should be item 21,part #964898M94, Plate and Spring Assembly. From this description it sounds as if the broken piece is the Spring Assembly and include with the plate. Sorry, but the only way to fix it may be to get a new plate.. Hope this helps as I'm only guessing based on your picture and description of the tractor.

Hi Jo,

Thanks for replying. Yes it is the spring plate which is broken.

Not to be naive, but how exactly do I sign on as a guest on that website? Have tried "guest" which kindly lets me know that it's an invalid user

Hi Jo,

Maybe it's because i'm logging in from a country where agco is not a company or something but there is definitely no login as guest or view books or anything else besides from what you see in the image I posted.

If it is at all possible for you or someone to screenshot the image for me, I will greatly appreciate it.

You have to be in North America to be able to login as a guest. In other parts of the world you should be able to get login information from a AGCO local dealer.

Anyone of these AGCO company dealers should be able to give you login information for the online parts books.

I'm sorry I can not get this computer to cooperate and upload the diagram that l scanned. The picture did not show the part clearly as to see the shape of the original. I did not know you had to be in North America to view the Agco Books. So take ptfarmer's advice and find a dealer to set you up.
