what is the uses of this hydraulic valve

This valve is on my massey ferguson 65. I'm wanting to have a remote valve or set of remotes on the back. Is this what I need to connect to, or do I need to attach att other valve to it or somewhere on the tractor?

That is a diverter valve. You could run an outlet from that or to
a spool valve and then run your outlet from the valve. Or that
comes off and you mount a valve body in its place.

I like the diverter valve, with the remote spool valve(s) mounted on the fender. They have spool valves that bolt up to where the diverter valve is, but they take up a lot of space, and seem to always be in the way when getting off, and on the tractor.

Put a similar one on my 65 for a 3-spool fender mounted valve. Drilled and tapped a hole in the top side of the transmission case for a return.

Learned later there is a return port already in place - an Allen head plug on the top left side of the transmission cover....

Duhhhh....

Thanks for the reply, I'm still a bit confused about it. if I understand you right, I can hook up a hose and put a pioneer female fitting on the end of it and hook up my bush hawg and control the up/down with the diverted by itself? Or do I need the spool valve as well?

You can do that if you only want single action for the remote cylinder. You would use the position control lever to raise and lower. If you want duel action you will have to go through a spool valve.

Thanks to both posters! Before I go any further with building hoses for the diverter valve, let me ask this. Shouldn't the tractor/hydraulics load up if I move the diverter valve handle with the tractor running? I had it running and moved from the center position as pictured in both directions and hear nothing happening with the hydraulics or the motor. Just seems that it should load up.

(quoted from post at 11:17:52 04/29/15) Did you have both levers to the right of the seat in the "up" position?
The only levers to the right of the seat I have are the 3 - point draft lever. I thought I was missing something.

(quoted from post at 20:58:09 05/01/15) Both the draft, and position quadrants have to be all the way up (the position control has to be up in the constant pumping position).
Thanks, I never even realized that the draft lever was there until I looked closely.
