Ok. After fixing the leak in my carburetor- sticky float. And with a distributor tuneup- new points- condenser- now tractor does not want to start. Turns over but no signs of igniting fuel.

any suggestions?

Has anyone else experienced problems with the parts included in the TSX458 carb rebuild kit? for example the nozzle provided in the kit in no way will work with the TSX458 carb. Lots of other parts including the springs don't fit as well. maybe I received a bogus kit? anyone else having these issues?

Still having issues with float sticking and flooding carb. Not sure what is causing this have disassembled/reassembled carb several times.

Bad juju tearing the carb AND the distributor apart at the same time. Now you will chase your tail for hours.
Start with the electrical stuff first. Atleast you won't smell like gas when you go in for lunch... and supper... and midnight snack...
If the timing is close, it will turn on a shot of starting fluid, then you begin playing with the carb. again.....good luck.

good battery charge- not seeming to get any spark. pulled plug and tried staring and no signs of spark. also shot starter fluid into cylinder and tried cranking and no ignition at all.

anyway to begin correcting spark issues? not that good with electrical gremlins

did you clean the points contacts before installing them
if not take a thin piece of card board or a dollar bill and rub the coating off your points
if that doesn't get things sparking turn your motor till your points are open and with a test light start checking to see if you have voltage at the points where the power wire connects if not trace back the wire to find your problem
if you have voltage to the points then you have a grounding problem
points could still need cleaning or the the distributor isn't grounded

figured it out. it's now a bad starter and good news is that while pull starting it in 4th gear it started right-up.
Purchased a engine hand crank and had to grind off some material on the crank T as it didn't fit the slot. Good news is that with the hand crank I was able to turn engine to 6 BDC and reinsert the distributor.
After pull starting with my little Hinomoto 4x4 tractor it ran good and was able to adjust the carb setting. Runs good. Hopefully the flooding issue is resolved.
shut it down and try to start it and starter weakly turns and no start. now on to rebuilding starter...
soon I'll have a new "old" tractor.
