I have a MH 50 Serial number SGM502195. It runs but needs carburetor work, sheet metal is all in good condition, needs 1 rear wheel. Tires hold air but need to be replaced because of dry rot. I am curious as to what it may be worth and exactly what year it may be. We have also been told it may be bronze and a limited number of these built, not sure though.

I guess someone was ashamed of it being a Massey Harris and had to put MF decals on it. At least the bronze was kept on the engine and drive train.

Yours could be twins with this one that I just picked up for a friend of mine!! This one is SGM503003. Yours is in a lot nicer shape than this one. This one has been parked for over 2 years due to a bad rim on the back. We put a battery in it and it didn't turn over twice and was running. A little love and a new rim and she will be back to work putting up hay..

I have one built in late 1957 that has the Massey Harris Ferguson tag on it but Massey Ferguson 50 and Ferguson System decals. The original owner purchased it around Christmas 1957. It was/is red and flint gray. It has a serial # SGM 515###. It's a hard working tractor. I paid $500 for it but it was a "running when parked" project. No tires, wiring, etc.

1957 was the last year of the Massey Harris 50, and 1957 was the first year of the Massey Ferguson 50. The Ferguson F40 was built from 1956 - 1958 (same tractor as the 50 but with a different hood/grill, and painted different). The Massey Harris, and Ferguson companies were merging together at that time.
