MF industrial 3165 3 point

this is the industrial version of a 165.. 4 cyl gas. have a 3 point that will not operate. rare having 3 point. also has PTO. has up/down [u:77ceaa96c4]and[/u:77ceaa96c4] draft control levers. PTO works fine. worked great prior to sitting for couple years. now it does not. took top of rear end case off and the piston is free. live power and engaging PTO does not do anything. any thoughts welcomed

Hello Claude,
The first thing to check is whether there was any evidence of water in the bottom of the casing. If there was it is very likely that the pump control valve lever is stuck/seized. Even if there was no water present the control valve and lever can still be stuck. If you have removed the hyd cover then you should have removed the roller from the pump lever. Using sensible hand pressure check whether this lever is free. It's normal position will be for the top to be leaning rearwards. It should return freely to this position. If it does not it will be necessary to remove the pump and at the very least replace the control valve. Other parts may be rusted/seized as well.
