MF 35 diesel fuel in oil

HI i have a MF 35 diesel that started leaking (or should i say flooding) oil out of the front of the motor. Seems to be front main seal or oil pan gasket in front. But when i was exploring deeper i checked the oil level and it was quite runny after sitting for more than 9 months. and it smelled like diesel. i also noticed the fuel tank was bone dry which i know had some fuel in it when i parked it because i drove it to its spot. Not sure where to investigate first. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

There are two possible causes for fuel leaking into the sump while the engine is not running, one is the fuel lift pump diaphragm and he second is the shaft seal located at the drive end of the fuel injection pump.

Thanks guys how would i go about checking those 2 items? do i have to pull fuel pump and injector off?
thanks again for the help

When there are two possibilities like you have I'd start with the lowest cost first, replacing the feed pump. Then change the oil and watch the level closely, and if oil level still comes up the injection pump needs repaired. I have been seeing more injection pumps coming in to repair leaks, but the feed pump is more likely...

If the tractor has a heater plug in the intake manifold it could be faulty and leaking.....disconnect the pipe and unscrew the plug....now reconnect the pipe and run the motor...The open hole in the manifold will not matter for a short run...see if the plug is leaking. As said before next is the fuel lift pump and last the (costly) injection pump shaft seal....
