Positive Groung electricle system

I just bought a 1969 Massey Ferguson 135 diesel and its running on a positive ground system. It starts good and runs good. Did some of these tractors have a positive ground system?

Lots of vehicles did. American cars switched in the 50s, i guess MF held on a bit longer. My mid 70s MF 30 is negative ground.

I have yet to see a 135 with positive ground electrical system here in the states. If you are in Europe, I think they still made some 135's with positive ground.

Could have been built either way, depending...
My train of thought is, if there's an alternator, it has to be 12V.
If a generator, dynomo, either way.
It seems all 6 volt machines were made to be positive ground. Guess it has to do with direction of flow when starting and charging. 1969 sounds late for either the last years of 6 volts or + grd

All Massey Ferguson tractors with a12 volt system are negative ground. Your 135 diesel must have a generator for the charging system to be
working with a positive ground. if the ammeter is showing charge when tractor is running, someone has switched the wires on it and also
polarize the regulator to positive ground. It can be switched back by re-polorizing the regulator to negative ground but I would consult an
owners manual wiring diagram as to the correct wiring for the ammeter gauge before changing it.
