Massey 44 Fuel tank,

Does anyone know if the gas and diesel tanks are the same length? Thanks !!!!

The tank on a 44 Diesel is the short tank like the ones on a Standard and a 30. The Diesel has a longer hood with the door for the second battery.

I could be wrong, but I thought all hoods 30,33,44,55 etc. were the same length, just different spacing for the holes. As far as the diesels are concerned, the second battery fit in front of the tank, in the space behind the engine beside the air cleaner; the hood is the same, just has the extra door. Long tank versions-row crops 44 SP and triple digit still had thwe same length hood, the long frame used the long tank
Just my 2 cents worth---and that ain't worth a lot!!

A diesel hood is just under 54 inches long. 44 & 55 hoods are 47 inches long. A 33 can have either a 54 or 47 inch hood depending on which gas tank the have. A 30, 33 and the Triples hoods all come down farther on the sides.
