Massey 1155

Looking for information on the Massey 1155 , are they good tractors or should I stay away from them . The one I found is said to be in good condition and ready for the field ,has working multi power . Also would anyone know how many Massey made . Thanks

man I worked for had one it was his main work horse and for the acres it crosses it gave good service until they put a turbo on it and cranked around 175 hp out of it,then in about 2 years engine went to using oil, then cracked a planetary housing,neighbor had one he bought used and ran it for years will little problems, the hyd.charge pump started going so bad he decided to trade it for a newer tractor, said he thought he had one of the best running V8's he had ever been around ,until the man that picked it up later told him about it breaking a rod will unloading it

Oh boy, your answers to this question as if they are good/bad are gonna be all over the board!
Some guys have had good service out of these 1155's while others have not......tough to judge the quality of a piece of equipment by others personal experience! Factors include.....how was it maintained, treated while operated are big factors to how people will respond to your question!
I personally have had fantastic service out of the five 1155's that's been on the farm over the years. If you don't abuse them, keep up maintience, and operate them with common sense and don't overwork them they will last! Remember these tractors were only rated 140-150 horsepower out of factory but people often twisted the smoke screw and turned them up to almost if not 200 horsepower......then bad things can happen if you have someone operating it that doesn't care!
They are a great tractor......remember these tractors are pushing 40 years old now......just beware of what you drag home......could be someone's nightmare

I see from the post with auction pictures and prices that the engine is not the best choice , along with other issues they had and the next model was not an improvement , thanks for your information
