Farm Auction with photo's

My brother had a farm auction this last Saturday, sold four tractors on the sale. 1995 Massey Ferguson 390T diesel $10,000., 1980 Massey Ferguson 2745 diesel $7250., 1965 Massey Ferguson 180 diesel $2700., 1959 Farmall 240 gas $1500. I was raised on this 200 acre farm here in Michigan, spent a lot of time on the Massey Ferguson 180 tractor and the Farmall 240 tractor. Like a get your thoughts on the prices of the tractors, if you think they were high, low, or fair. Also sold on this farm auction was a lot of antiques including this cast-iron seat that sold for $200.

Things seem on the low side for that big Massey. A lot of tractor for the money. The 180 was probably in line. I just bought one for 3000 with straighter tin.

180 price is about right. Dad has a 180 with a loader, has about 8000 hours on it. Dealer I get MF parts from says all he will allow on any 2000 series is tire condition plus scrap weight price, especially 24 speed models. Dad had a 2705 that was nowhere near as reliable as the 1100 he still has. I used to work at the local MF dealer, and like most models, but around here the 2000 series were a sore subject. Dealer did say the last 2705 models had the best reputation as the 24 speed had the latest updates...

The 2745 was a massey mistake from the start. The price it brought was a plenty. Most guys in the market for another tractor know that models reputation. I would say the rest of the tractors brought within reason of what they were worth.

what about the gleaner looked to be in decent condition was the 27 a 24 speed or 8 speed I actually like the two eight speed never had much look with the 24.
