Who here has a MF 30B?

Hello;
We have acquired an MF 30B w/ loader and gannon. We will use it to grade the road in our community. About 4 miles. I would like to network with other owners to pic your brains.
I have so far replaced filters , thermostat, head gasket and resurfaced the head. All info I got on line and Youtube.
What I am wondering now is; there is a tube from the air cleaner under the battery. There is a hole in the left side of the dashboard. I assume the two should be connected. Can anyone clue me in?
I would also like to know where to get parts in So.Caiif. Everyplace on line is back east.
And Lastly...Why is the (Xeroxed) service manual so damn expensive??????
Thanks

call AGCO Answers 1(877)-525-4384 They can put you in touch with some dealers who still deal with MF industrial equipment (there is a company in California that deals with MF industrials, but I can't remember the name). They should also be able to find the year model.

Air cleaner draws outside air from open end facing operator.
Don't recall any tube from housing to left side of dash. Only
connection is between manifold and housing on ours (AD152).
Only hole in left side of our dash is where fwd/reverse lever
mounts through. Ours is standard trans.

The large hole in the dash (4-5" Dia.) probably
housed the Tachometer/Eng. hour gauge. Someone may
have removed it. Go up on MachineryTrader.com and
look in 40-99HP tractor section. Go to Massey-
Ferguson, the click 30B or 30E. They have several
4sale on there now with a picture of Dash. Good
Luck.

I have a 30B TLB, excellent little machine. First and foremost use only hytran or permatran in the hydraulics....no matter what....second, if its a shuttle machine(forwardreverse pedals on the right) don't use it like a bulldozer(it'll do it for a while, then get spendy). Probably something to keep an eye on is the routing of the battery cables, they do like to rub on the throttle linkage.

I have a 40b and my uncle has a 30b. Both are manual
shuttle. Gear, not the instant reverse ones. Reliable tractors
as long as they're not whipped. Any parts I've needed I've
been able to get from massey dealers. Some get expensive
though, especially on the front end. Ebay and other internet
sites are your best friend when things get expensive. I've
bought steering cylinders and a power steering pump from
reliable after market parts out of Williamston, mi and had
good results for a 1/3 the price of massey.

I have a 30B with instant reverse, rear PTO, FEL and box blade. In the 5 years I have owned it, it has bees a reliable tractor. Some of the gauges were in-op when I bought it, so I have slowly been replacing them all. Also, just recently had to replace the power steering pump, which I bought from this site.
