Massey 1105

Just looking for opinions on the 1105. I have the opportunity to purchase one locally with 4100 hours with cab, multi power and duals. Pretty clean, straight old tractor with good tires. Has injector pump problems but the motor was rebuilt and clutch replaced two years ago roughly 200 hours run time on this. for $4000.00 can I go wrong?

I have a 1105 here with a little over 11000 hours an d I think it is an awesome tractor, opinions seem to very on it. Had a rebuild at 6000 hours and new clutch, brakes at 9000 hours and now the pto went out at 11000, got it back and left it in the shed, cause of winter and it is an open station. Question, do you know who did the rebuild? I bought a 2705 in November of 2012 with a fresh overhaul but the guy who did it put lock tight around the sleeves, I Didn't know this and it locked up when I worked it in the spring. Other wise 4 grand sounds good to me, but this coming from a guy who likes the 1105 and the 2005 series tractors. LOL

They are a pretty decent tractor. Most common issue is hydraulic problems. Be sure the hydraulics work properly especially when hot. Most common symptom is having to rev the engine from idle to get any oil flow.

What types of jobs u gonna do with it? If you use it as an 100 horsepower tractor as it was intended to be used you'll be fine!
Don't think your gonna buy a big tractor cheap and go out and pull a 16 row planter or 30 ft field cultivator!
Everything is the same as an 1135 other than it has a smaller turbo on the 1105.
If you try to over tax it your gonna run into head gasket failures, clutch failures.......I know.......been there and done this already!!!!!

If you use it as 100 horsepower tractor you'll get along great with it.......they are a very reliable tractor when used correctly per horsepower requirements and not abused!!!!!

1105 has a lighter ring & pinion, axle planetaries, smaller injection pump plungers also..

I love my 1105
I use it to pull my silage chopper and my disk
Just bought a 10' tiller this winter hope to pull it with my 1105
Bought it from grading company that bought it new had 5000 hrs After I got it we did an INframe and reman turbo and hydraulic pump Spent a lot on it but it has been a great tractor
