Can anyone tell me if you have to split a 180 to change the hydraulic pump filter and pto seal?
Thanks for any input

The hydraulic pump has a screen, not a filter that can be removed after the lift cover is removed. A split is needed to remove the pump. PTO seal can be removed after the four bolt chain bracket is removed, then put a bolt or punch in the shaft hole and pry the shaft and seal holder out.

Just to add a little to Dieseltech's reply.
Once the chain brackets and plate have been removed all that holds the seal hub in place is the tightness of the large O ring. However if the are is rusted it can be difficult. Another option is to fit a PTO shaft until the locking pin has engaged. Using a pry bar on each side against the coupling, lever the shaft rearwards with suitable bars. Don't forget to drain the oil first.

Maybe through the PTO shift cover IF the tractor had ground drive PTO AND NO auxiliary hydraulic lines to the cover. Which I've never seen a 180 built that way. Best to remove the lift cover, and get a service manual before you do so the hydraulic controls are not wrecked...
