MF 65 RH Tie Rod Assembly

Hello!

We need some input please. We have a MF 65 that needs the right tie rod replaced. However -

The part that we removed from the tractor does not match any of the parts we're finding for this model. The serial number on our tractor is SGM654732.

The rod that we removed is about 16" from the center of the loop to the end of the rod. The rod diameter is .74". The rod itself is a notched rod. We will replace the entire assembly if needed.

It's been suggested that this is not the original tie rod and may have been replaced anytime in the last 50 years. We've only owned it for a couple of years.

SO -what part do we order to fix our tractor?

Thank you so much!

By the serial number it was built in 1958 (it did not have the notched tie rod originally).

192865M1 Rod Assembly (Right) (15-1/2" Long) Notched.
196099M1 Cover, Dust
353429X1 Nut (5/8" - 18 Half Hex.)

Someone did swap out the early style tie rods to the late 1962 to 1965 (last) production year model 65.

Your rod diameter of .74 does not seem to match the 192865M1 that this site offers. (I included a link)

After 57 years it is a wild guess as to what someone has put on the machine.

All of the rods had "notches" of some type. I would call the early ones dimples (looks like someone drilled only deep enough for the tip of a drill bit) the later ones did have what I would call a notch. The tube and clamp that the rod slides into will dictate the style of rod you need.

Could you post a picture of the clamp on the tube ?

This one has the .74" rod diameter 186066M91 (it should be dimpled)

Thanks so much! I did go to an area Agco parts dealer per suggestion and the young man there was able to help me find a replacement part. We went with replacing the one that is currently on the tractor since the left is the same kind. The part should be in within the week so hopefully it will work. After looking at the left one yesterday, we're pretty sure we need both so probably should have ordered both at the same time. Well - live and learn :)

Thanks again for all the assistance and input. She's really a neat old tractor so we're happy to get her up and running again.

Can you post a picture for us? And if you can get the YT store to figure it out, they might be able to match something up for you.
