202 clutch sticking?

Hello, getting my 202 running and noticed after driving for a few minutes the clutch won't release. I adjusted the pedal travel correctly, the throw out bearing seems ok. When I step on clutch the tractor stops but is still dragging so I have to bang the lever in and out of gear, but if I mess with it enough it will totally release and not drag, but next time I clutch it , the dragging starts all over again. This tractor had been sitting outside for several years so could it be rust, if so what can be done without splitting the tractor.
Thanks.

There are a couple things you can try.
#1 Pull the starter off then with the clutch pedal blocked down spray the clutch with brake cleaner spray. Turn the engine from time to time to get the whole clutch.
#2 take it out for a long drive and hit the clutch often so as to let the disk spin freely to help clean it up.
#3 adjust the clutch a bit more so you get less free play and more travel

RIGHT THERE is the value of this site; I have a Farmall with a sticking clutch, and me and others have batted around various ideas. Now I will try the brake-cleaner spary with starter removed, I bet that's a great idea. Thanks, guys.

sounds to me more like the linkage is gummed up with old grease in the bell housing.
proper fix is to remove parts till u get to the clutch and if that's the problem then pull that apart and clean or replace as necessary.

Also blocking the clutch pedal down every time you park it goes a long ways in stopping the clutch from sticking. Have an old 8N that you have to do that or it will stick every time

Blocking the clutch is something that I had never heard until I was with a good friend when he bought his new Kubota back in November. The tech guy told us even though his new one is an HST that use the clutch block lever every time he parks it to prevent the clutch from sticking.

Good advice on blocking the clutch.

Believe it or not but Kubota had a block of wood with a decal on for blocking the clutch.

Another possibility is your clutch splines are probably rusty as well and the disc isn't floating as it should on the input shaft splines. This will let it drag on the flywheel ever so slightly.

You guys were right about blocking he clutch, it seems to be working better each time I use it.
