any of you ever use Opti-Lube fuel treatment?

guess I spend to much time in front of the computer these cold days. Read Opti-Lube was a top rated diesel fuel treatment.

so I order some, have not poured it in the tank yet.

Have been using Diesel Kleen summer or winter blend, never had any problems,

any of you guys ever tried Opti-Lube fuel treatment???????

if so, what is your opinion on this material, other than expensive by the time the UPS guy delivered it to my door.

for that price the old truck tractor should do back flips.

Well I don't know hardly anything about the topic, so I'll answer you. I put very low hours on my diesel tractor. But I/ve gone to the CaseIH dealer and bought some anti-bacteria stuff, just to be on the safe side, and poured some in. And the most popular brand of diesel-treat stuff I see is Howes', I see it everywhere, specially at my local farm n home, so I pour a shot in every so often. Never have any problems.

I bet if you ran scientific testing on all the more popular products you will find that they are very close to one another, or at least close enough that you couldn't tell the difference. Some of them might be stronger than the other or call for a different mix ratio or might have other additives to perform different tasks (lubricity additive).

What I found that most of them have for a main ingredient is labeled as "Petroleum Distillates". There is not a clear definition of what that is in a certain product but in lamens terms that is a solvent, it could be mineral spirits, kerosene, white spirits, naptha etc.

So basically, what you are saying,

Unless I look out there and see the tractor truck
playing dodge ball in the barnyard.

I am just as well off using the much cheaper diesel
kleen.

I wouldn't worry about brand names, but the way they are playing games with the fuels themselves, you do need to put in something that fights icing and jelling. The weather you got in Kentucky lately, it is money well spent- even it is dollar store brand.
My home heating oil in Mass needs a kerosene mix AND diesel kleenz... a couple years ago I grew a fine crop of algae... 900 gallons worth..... and people wonder why I prefer gassers... and Oklahoma weather... such as it is. And I put in cold weather treatments here too... just incase...
