Anyone ever change lift cylinders on a MF1135 or MF1105

I need to repair or swap out both rear lift
cylinders on my MF1135. I have a MF1105 with
identical cylinders, planning on parking it for
good. It looks like a big job getting them off
so if anyone has any experience with this then let
be know whats involved.

It is actually pretty simple, well for me anyway. Fist is take the arms off and the cylinders should be hanging. Then it depends how the cylinder is turned. If turned so the hose is hooked up facing out the barrel can stay in place, if not then have to unbolt at the top but I had issues trying to get it to separate there so I took it with the casting off the rocker. Heavy tho. Just pop the snap ring in the cylinder down a grove and it will come right out. You have to do this through the hole where the hose connects to the barrel, it will jump pretty easy. Pull out shaft, replace the seal and wiper, and put back together. When putting snap ring back in the lock groove, be careful not to go to far with it it an go over and then it needs pulled again to get snap ring, I've done it. This job is much easier with two people but still not hard. Hope this helps from my babbling.

Thanks Tom, I have the option of removing 2 from
one tractor to replace the other ones or rebuilding the two on the tractor so I need to decide which would be easier

I've been down that road of swapping a leaky one out for another not leaking.....then the one you put on in place of leaky one starts leaking.....better to rebuild what you have.....all these cylinders are 30+ years old now and all seals are getting weak!
As Tom stated its not that hard to rebuild them.....better to go that route and then your good for another 30+ years!
