Massey Ferguson 135 no fire

My massey has been sitting for about a year the coil read bad. I replaced the coil still no fire? Check wire on highest ohm reading it read 1226 not sure if that is the way to check ? It cranks just not firing any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help.

Don't guess do some trouble shooting. Pull the center wire out of the distributor cap and hold it about a 1/4 inch from the engine some place and crank it over and watch for spark. If no spark pull the cap off and turn the ignition on and open and close the points by hand. You should both see and hear a spark when yoo do that. No spark means the points are dirty or corroded and need to be cleaned

To add to old post if that dose not work open points
install peace of cardboard between points turn on key
should have voltage at movable arm of points if not
back wiring to find loss
traper

Thanks it was the points dirty . Thanks for the help. Runs now.

Points are always the first thing to check when you have no spark and if it sat any time at all they tend to corrode
