Got the hyd lift cover off of 30 ind. Need to find proble...

I got the hyd lift top cover off of the 30 today. Not sure what I'm looking at but something does not look right with linkage. I need to remove the pump and clean it up and see if it looks ok. Not sure how to remove it?

That's probably the reason your 3 point didn't work when you got the tractor. If you didn't feel anything hanging up, and or if didn't have to use some extra force when you pulled the lift cover, someone else had already got into it who didn't know what they were doing.

The pump lever stays on the pump by spreading the lever arms apart to remove the roller through the side cover hole BEFORE removing the lift cover.

Dick, yours is not a MF65 system like those I've dealt with. It appears to be a 165 system, so I was wrong and DieselTech and PTFarmer were right about removing the roller. There is also a good possibility that a previous mechanic fouled it up.

To remove the pump, there is a cotter pin through the coupling in the shaft above the pump. Remove the pin, slide the coupling 'forward', then the front part of the shaft (with coupling) will slide toward the back and come out. The pump itself is held in by two pins, one from a cap on each side of the housing. The rest should be obvious.
