Is there a special tool for loosening or tightening the power-adjust rims on a MH-50. I used a 15" adjustable wrench, but it seems there would be a better way.

I once worked for a guy that had one of those. We would change the wheels almost daily. It looked like a 'standard' L shaped automotive lug wrench.Except it had a (approxamatly) 1/2" square recess. This was on a '65' with 38" rear wheels.

I use a 1/2" drive ratchet extension backwards. Use a large adjustable on the male end of the extension to turn. Always meant to make a handle up out of a socket and a busted breaker bar but never have.

Tractor originally came with a 90 degree square male drive tool with a sliding handle, and an extension tool with square drive on each end. If the wheels have not been moved for awhile the square ends may break due to rust. Had an 85 that was repaired with 5/8 inch nuts welded on as the square ends were all broken off. I remove the wheel with all the carriage bolts out of the adjustment blocks, then knock the center out. Put the center back on tractor, free up all the blocks, then bolt two back on the center. Roll the tire/rim in place with the two blocks at top, then replace the rest by sliding on each rail to the wheel. Have done several to keep from breaking the square drive ends.

This is what the tools look like.

Gee, I never knew I only have half the tool. At least I have the extension part. Have never seen one of the extending handles.

My old 1957 TO 35 came with those wheel adjusting tools and the Ferguson wrench.

Still have them, put them up in my shop tool box so they would not get misplaced,

also have the original owners manual that came with the tractor.

Over the years I have had those wheel rail locks rust up, have to take them off the center wheel, heat with a torch to free them up. Only take off one at a time.
