Ignition Parts Needed for MF 165 Gas Tractor.

Dad bought a 1966 MF 165 in 1969 I believe and I am in need of where to find Massey Ferguson parts as I believe I need to replace everything associated with the ignition system. I'm just talking like the distributor parts, cap, rotor, points and condenser, new spark plugs and wires, etc. In the IH/Farmall world we have very well known suppliers for on-line parts and don't have a clue who they might be in MF land. I know the spark plug wires are the originals and look in poor shape for sure. I prefer the custom made sets with both ends installed and not one of those do-it-yourself kits. I don't even have an idea of what spark plugs are needed for working in the hay fields and doing some occasional dirt tillage work as the operators manual doesn't state the preferred ones. Dad was not someone who maintained equipment per the manual and just had them fixed when they wouldn't run anymore so I'm trying to make the tractor a turn-key performer again. The engine was overhauled at 2500 hours and it presently has approx. 200 hours since then. The closest MF dealership is approximately 60 miles one way from the farm which is why I'm looking for on-line sources. Any recommendations and suggestions in securing parts will be most appreciated, Hal.

Distributor should be the Delco two screw cap, even NAPA should have parts for it. Plugs I have best results with are Autolites, 386 or hotter 388 if needed.

I try to drive over to the dealers, take an afternooon road trip, have lunch, and get parts there, it keeps them in business, if that matters. To me it does, imagine if they had to close up??? I think it's valuable keepiing them around.

With the price of gas its not practical to go to the dealer just to find he'll have to order the part. Call the dealer and have him set up an online account with him. Then you can go online and look up parts you need, including price. Send him the order online and receive it in the mail.

Hal your local O'Reilly's auto parts store should have them or be able to get them in 24 hours or less. If they can not figure it out down there let me know and I can get you the numbers from my local one.

Thanks for all the comments and I did spend a little time in town this afternoon and I can get everything I need through the O'Reilly's Auto Parts in town thanks to Old. Also, it appears the spark plug to use is the AutoLite 386 like I have in some of my Farmalls. I found new custom made spark plug and coil wire sets on the internet so I'm thinking I just need some time and a little warmer weather to put all this in work. Thanks to everyone for their help in this matter, Hal.
