65 diesel need a thermostat

redoing a 65 diesel...it is getting a new
head.......has original big old english thermostat
in it......well it is of course bad.

what do I go to Oreilly's and get part number
wise?
warm up with wood heat

I don't know what it crosses over to (if it crosses over) but the MF part number for the thermostat is 890991M91.

If everything else fails, and nobody else can answer you, I'd recommend going to a good O'Reilly's and take that old thermostat with you. They might be able to figure out one that will fit. I'd for sure never throw the old one away. The time will come you'll wish you had it to compare.

don't worry I am not throwing it away.....but we didn't find anything in the books at oreilly's to fit it......didn't even show the 65's or even 100 series anymore

Actually if you go to the " Tractor Parts " section above and do a search for Massey Ferguson, 65. You will find it in the cooling section. Description: Replaces 2485668, 2485655, 248585, 2485639, 890991M91, 1446073M91, 1853245M1, 883471M91. Outside diameter 2.705. For tractor models 1100, 1130, 165, 165 UK with AD4.203 ENG, 220, 255, 30, 300, 302, 304, 3165, 40B, 410, 50, 50A, 60, 65, 765, Super 90. All with diesel engines.

Yea we used to love looking up parts before computers,it was not unusual to have six or seven superseded numbers.(in 1975)
