I seem to have to dress the points in my '59 with Conti 4 Delco distributor quite often in the wet season. I do have the plastic cover over the points assembly (under the rotor) but they still corrode. I have not tried new points, thinking they would probably corrode just as fast, no?
Is there a drop in electronic conversion that goes in the existing distributor without removing it from the engine or having to re-time? Don't want to open a bigger can of worms than filing the points a couple time a year. Pertronix? Which one?
